This post will be about reflecting on this entire blog. I missed the post that was for reflection on the school year, so I may include some of that in this post as well, but ultimately I am planning on making another post on a bit later.
This blog has been fairly useful. It's given me time to think out what I need to do during the week since I can type out a plan and reflection of what is already done. However, the posts that I liked most were the ones not focused on reflecting on work but rather the ones where we had to watch a video or read an article and talk about what we had learned from it. It was more interesting to learn as well as making a blog post, rather than just saying, "this is what I did this week,". Overall, it has helped me keep track of what we have learned this year since I can go back and read past posts. I can also see my personal progress because of the work I've posted. I think I'm going to try to make some improvements to it over the summer so that it looks better overall next year.

I am a bit behind on the 3D modeling tutorials that we have been doing in class, but I am starting to catch up. So far I have learned basic 3D modeling techniques and am just starting on the lessons on rendering. This has been working with basic primitives, and using different materials on models. While the tutorials are good ways to learn 3ds Max, they feel fairly repetitive. Repetition is important in order to master skills, but I guess I just don't like following tutorials over and over again so much. My favorite projects so far have been the ones where I have had more freedom and not had to exactly follow a video. I liked the futuristic city because it involved using many different tools to make interesting shapes, and I got to really experiment with the bevel, extrude, and connect tools in different ways. Texturing the spaceship was also a fairly fun project because it made it look a lot cooler and I could experiment with different materials. However, I think the most useful tutorial was probably making flowers because it taught basic but interesting modifiers which are very useful. In the future I should be able to make much more realistic models now that I am starting to learn how to texture the models that I've made. I still have a lot to learn about 3ds Max, but I feel like I'll be able to get there fairly soon.
